Bay View Community Day

Pop-up Performance

Several MSM members participated in a pop-up performance during Bay View Community Day on July 25, a socially-distanced event that celebrated all that makes Bay View great. Residents, organizations, and businesses showcased talent, sold goods, or promoted service projects that enrich the community – all from their front yards.

At a safe distance, attendees watched music and dance performances on a neighbor’s porch, checked out art for sale in a community member’s garden, helped create chalk art on a sidewalk, or contributed to a beach clean-up. Participants walked, ran, and biked their own 5K, 10K, or any distance route to view the showcased events, which were marked on this Google map. Everyone was welcome to attend!

MSM members provided musical performances between 12 Noon and 1:00 PM during the Bay View Community Day program as part of “Wonderful Day.” Noted Milwaukee actor and living statue artist, Alice Wilson, appeared in costume reading poems from the book, “Everything You Say About Me THAT’S WONDERFUL is True,” authored by Catherine Blewett Miller, a Bay View resident.
This is the first book published by Miller’s Trick Dog Books, LLC. It is an A to Z prescription for happiness in 26 alphabetical poems about positive qualities told from a dog’s perspective.

The pop-up performance included:

  • Edelweiss
  • Oh What a Beautiful Morning
  • Sound of Music
  • When The Saints Go Marching In

Thank you to all who participated while keeping the community safe.
